Legendary opera star Jose Carerras is set to perform at Angkor Wat later this year in a concert that should prove a truly memorable occasion. The show is being promoted as the ultimate Christmas gift, and tickets are limited to just 1,000 seats. 

The star will be backed by the Singapore Symphony Orchestra along with hundreds of singers, dancers, musicians and other performers. The cost of the ticket -- US$500 to US$1,000 -- covers the performance, full gourmet dinner prepared by a team of chefs from the Raffles Grand Hotel d'Angkor and a selection of vintage wines. 

Dress code is, unsurprisingly, formal. The performance takes place on the evening of December 6th, 2002, and all proceeds are to be split between four charities: the Cambodian Red Cross; Veterans International for Landmine Victims; Wild AID and SOS Children's Villages.
