Cambodia celebrates Grand Opening of its Angkor Operation
Issued: 14 November 2002 Travelers to world heritage site, Angkor Wat, can now enjoy all the comforts that characterize Cambodia's famed Foreign Correspondents Club (FCC) Phnom Penh, at the recently opened FCC Angkor. Previously home to Government Officers before the French Consulate, FCC Angkor was applied as the comfortable retreat near the world heritage. Located next to the official residence of King of Cambodia in Siem Riep, the FCC offers a casually elegant environment, encompassing bar, restaurant, outdoor dining terrace, barbeque and small shopping center. The 40-year-old, traditionally art-deco two storey building stands in the middle of beautiful nature with lush and verdant foliage. Due to its location on the riverside, the resident is even graced with its pleasant and relaxing environment. Entering on the ground floor, there line the handicraft and book shops as well as travel agent. Upstairs, the open bar and kitchen offer various kinds of food, both Asian and International food. After the great success of FCC in Phnom Penh, its offspring in Siem Riep is believed to reach the same experience as a focal point for relaxation of residents and visitors of all kinds of social classes, from Ambassadors to back packers.
