| UN calls
on Cambodia's PM to help stamp out smoking Issued: 25 June 2003
Prime Minister Hun Sen of Cambodia has been asked to sign the country up to an international treaty on tobacco control launched by the UN as an effort to cut tobacco-related disease and death. Dr.Jim Tulloch from the World Health Organization said that Cambodia ranks one of the highest rates of smokers in the world, with 60 percents of men addicted to smoking habit. Hun Sen was said to have once promised his daughter he would quit smoking, but has slipped back into the habit.
