ASEAN to Launch Security Website for Tourists Issued: 9 January 2003 The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) will launch a tourism security and safety information website, partly to encounter foreign government's advisories warning their people not to travel in the region. The bombing on Bali Island in Indonesia coming after the terrorists' attack on 11 September in the United States, tourism in the Southeast Asia which accounts the largest part of the region's income has negatively been affected. The website scheme, initiated by Cambodia will allow foreign tourists to receive accurate information of the situation in the 10-nation-member, including Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, the Philippines, Singapore, and Vietnam. The project will be discussed and approved by tourism
ministers during the ASEAN Tourism Forum to be held in Phnom Penh January
