NEW TEMPORARY DOMESTIC TERMINAL IN PHNOMPENH

The temporary domestic terminal at Pochentong Airport in Phnompenh will move to a new location on the Western part of the existing terminal effective from 15 August, 2000.

By 2001, the airport runway will be ready to receive Boeing 747s. The airport is expected to handle 1.2 millions passengers per year.

RIVER OF THOUSAND LINGAS (KBAL SPEAN)

The Apsara Authorities in charge of the conservation and protection of the Angkor Wat complex have successfully managed to take control of this beautiful site. The impressive and well-preserved Hindu sculptures in the riverbed and on the river banks are now accessible with the normal Visit Angkor Pass and no more "entry fees" are levied by the former guards. These are now official Apsara conservation officers.

A visit to this site can be combined with a visit to the holy mountain, Phnom Kulen (not yet under Apsara Management) and Banteay Srei for a full day tour with packed lunch.
